In 2012, Sagar was one of the restaurants in the first season of “Pesadilla en la cocina”, the Spanish version of Kitchen Nightmares. Fourteen years on, it is still open on the same street, and the press keeps telling the story.

Is Sagar a vegan restaurant?
Not entirely: Sagar is an Indian restaurant where 80% of the dishes are vegan, with a vegan menu to share and a section of vegetable dishes on the menu. Meat and fish can also be ordered at the same table.
Do you have a vegan menu?
Yes, Herbs & Spices: samosa, tandoori mushrooms, aloo gobhi and dal tarka, with basmati rice, chapati and dessert, for €25 per person, for two or more. Drinks are extra.
Which dishes on the menu are vegan?
As well as the Herbs & Spices menu: the vegetable dishes (dal tadka, chana masala, aloo gobhi, bombay aloo, bhindi bhaji, baigan bhaji, sag aloo, mushroom aloo and mix vegetable curry), the curries with vegetables, the vegetable samosa and pakora, the chapati, the boiled, coconut and lemon rice, and the shakes made with soya milk. If you are vegan, tell us when you order and we will explain how each dish is prepared.
Can I come with someone who isn’t vegan?
Yes. As well as the vegan menu there is a full Indian menu, with dishes from the tandoor oven and chicken, lamb and prawn curries, and two other menus to share.
